Our pricing at The Iron Clinic covers both iron consultations and iron infusions. A doctors consultation is an essential part of the normal iron infusion process to ensure that you are appropriately, reviewed and informed, with doctors oversight for the correct treatment and dose with a clear management plan and follow up. We can see self pay patients at any of our clinics (most days of the week). For those wishing to use private insurance please ensure you have authorisation when booking. Bespoke / VIP services are available on request
The full treatment includes a medical review and consultation for their iron infusion there are no hidden or additional charges. Please review our full services and associated fees below, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch:
Please note that consultation + treatment is normally £790 for 1000mg IV iron.
A consultation is a normal and essential part of the iron infusion process to ensure the patient is receiving the correct treatment, appropriate dose, are fully aware and consented for the procedure, and have a clear plan for follow up. We do these online in advance of the iron infusion so people can arrive fully informed and prepared for their treatment.
During the consultation our Specialist will go through your full history and review your blood results then discuss your problem with you, inform about iron deficiency and the treatment options, so you have a clear treatment plan. This includes advice on the management of heavy periods, recognition of underlying medical or haematological problems and a clear follow up plan to ensure that you do not suffer again.
All patients receiving an iron infusion are required (CQC and GMC guidance) to have a doctors review to ensure they have the correct treatment and dosage of IV iron as well as oversight and responsibility for the infusion itself
ZOOM consultations: In response to patient feedback we have stopped routine ‘in clinic’ consultations.
Online video conferencing are available most days of the week at flexible times to work around your schedule. This allows you to be prepared (with any partners or relatives) from the comfort of your home at a time that is convenient for you. Having a consultation in advance also offers far greater flexibility on timings for the infusion.
One Stop Clinic: Please ask about face to face consultations if you have problems with IT support or require a translator etc. or you wish a VIP service. These are limited and only at The Iron Clinic in London, overall you will be with us for about 90 minutes (consultation + infusion all in one visit), additional charges may apply.
Please be aware that the responsibility for ensuring the account is paid is yours. Online / Zoom consultations are booked and paid online. For one-stop and infusions please pay in clinic on the day of treatment unless prior arrangements are in place. We accept all major credit cards.
All accounts should be settled on the day of treatment unless prior arrangements are in place. We accept all major credit cards. Failure to pay will be politely chased. However, accounts that remain in debt after 2 weeks will be passed to Redwood Collections, a late payment fee of £65 be added to your account and you will be liable for all subsequent charges incurred including time for either admin staff (£50p.h.) or consultant staff (£400p.h.).
We understand that unexpected circumstances and unplanned issues can arise, leaving you unable to attend and needing to cancel your appointment. As such, we respectfully request that you notify us of any intended cancellation a minimum of 24 hours in advance to allow us to offer the appointment to other patients.
Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of their scheduled time as well as missed appointments will be subject to the full cost of the consultation and/or treatment. Late arrivals where the appointment cannot be completed without running into the next appointment slot will be cancelled and rescheduled without charge. This allows The Iron Clinic to run efficiently and fairly for all patients and to offer the best possible service.
Unavoidable circumstances may warrant special consideration.
Please note that all new patients require a consultation with their first treatment
Following the consultation with our doctor we normally prescribe a ‘full treatment dose’ which is based on the patient’s weight and their blood results. In the majority this is 1000mg of either Ferinject or Monofer so the total price is £790.
In some cases a larger dose may be given of 1500mg this is an extra £200 (i.e. £990 total). In those patients who require a ‘top up’ infusion within 2 years then the consultation fee is waived and the costs for the infusion are below. Most infusions are 15-30 minutes and we observe for an additional 30 minutes so please allow 90 minutes in total for your visit:

It can be difficult to fill appointments which are cancelled at the last minute or if someone fails to turn up. As such, we respectfully request that you notify us of any intended cancellation a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of their scheduled time (and missed appointments) will be subject to a £200 cancellation fee. We will try our very best to fill the slot for you and, if so, waive the cancellation fee (this also helps us, as it is not better for us to have an empty slot).
We offer regular follow up appointments after your iron infusion. This would normally be with the doctor who undertook your initial consultation or the doctor responsible for your iron infusion.
Normally, we suggest repeat blood test 8-12 weeks post infusion (blood count and Ferritin)
At your follow up we would review and discuss any improvements (or problems) you have encountered. Then review your blood tests (before and after) to discuss with you a plan moving forwards, the need for further monitoring, oral iron or further IV iron. Also, any additional treatments (tranexamic acid) or onwards referrals to haematology / gynaecology / gastroenterology etc.
Appointments can be booked anytime, directly online, emailing the clinic or at the time of your infusion. Just let us know how we can help.
Insurance patients are normally covered for routine follow up.
