Iron infusions 101 Harley Street LONDON..

Feeling tired, drained or not quite yourself?

Low iron can leave you feeling tired, weak, breathless, dizzy, foggy-headed or unable to concentrate. Sometimes, you simply don’t feel like yourself.

At The Iron Clinic, we specialise in treating iron deficiency and helping you find the right solution.

Iron tablets and dietary changes can help, but your body can only absorb a limited amount of iron each day. Rebuilding depleted iron stores can therefore take months, and tablets aren’t suitable or effective for everyone.

An intravenous iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream, allowing your iron stores to be replenished much faster. Many patients report feeling better within days, although individual results vary.

The staff is incredible. The clinic is beautiful, and the overall experience is absolutely the best you can get for intravenous treatments in London.

Having been struggling with low iron for around 15 years, and stuck in a cycle of pills that cause digestive issues, and no luck getting an infusion on the NHS I decided to get treatment privately at the Iron Clinic. The process was smooth and very fast, from the consultation to the day of the infusion. The consultation was very thorough and I felt well informed of how the infusion would work and the side effects before hand. Dr Rachel was lovely and the team at the clinic were very attentive, especially as I was quite nervous during the procedure, but they were by my side reassuring me and checking my blood pressure throughout the 45 mins or so I was hooked up. Thank you to everyone who looked after me, I would highly recommend!

Had intravenous iron at the Leeds clinic. Everyone was so friendly and I had my treatment within the hour. Also booked on only a few days prior. Came due to NHS waiting lists and wasn’t disappointed with the speed & service. Would recommend this clinic for anyone needing iron!

This was my third visit to the Iron Clinic and I would recommend it to anyone needing an Iron Infusion. All the staff are efficient, personable and very accommodating. If you’re nervous about needles, the doctor I had inserting the cannulae, made it look like child's play. I brought my blood test results with me, for the doctor to see. The Infusion took about 20mins, the whole appointment took about an 1hours.

Thank you so much to the entire team. This is my second experience with the Iron Clinic, and I would not hesitate to recommend. Everyone is welcoming, kind, inclusive and just puts your mind at rest and gets the job done. I feel privileged to be able to have the treatment as I honestly feel it’s life changing, and a real investment. Keep going with bridging the gap with your excellent research as I know it’ll be appreciated by many. Thanks again

Toby is very knowledgeable and passionate about healing those with iron deficiency. He explained the misdiagnosis of many women with depression and anxiety which is actually related to this illness. He was very calm throughout the process. Michelle and Mark also lovely. Happy I finally got an iron infusion and looking forward to seeing the results over the next few months.

EDIT: I have decided to amend my review from 4 to 5 stars as the clinic has taken the time to write a detailed response to the information I discussed below which you may see below my review here. I retain my full original comment here below for context. *** There is a previous review which states there is no choice between ferinject and monofer - this is not the case, I received monofer today. The reason I asked for monofer was because I have borderline phosphate levels and a vitamin D deficiency. There is an article entitled “Ferric carboxymaltose (Ferinject▼): risk of symptomatic hypophosphataemia leading to osteomalacia and fractures” on the GOV.UK website which points out low phosphate and vitamin D deficiency as being risk factors for hypophosphataemia, and states ferinject has a higher risk for this. If you also look up the PHOSPHARE trials, the study report contains the following quote: “ As detailed in the primary report, the incidence of hypophosphatemia was 8.0% (10/125) in FDI-treated patients, none of whom developed severe hypophosphatemia (12). In contrast, 74.4% (87/117) of FCM-treated patients developed hypophosphatemia, which was severe in 11.3% (13/115) of patients (12).” FDI UK brand name = monofer FCM UK brand name = ferinject I did not therefore really vibe with being told by the doctor there are “no studies” and “people are seeing it on TikTok”, found it a little demeaning in fact as a young woman who doesn’t have TikTok at all and just likes to look things up. I believe people should be allowed to make up their mind with accurate information provided regardless of whether the clinic itself agrees with the study or has had reactions in patients there themselves, and “there are no studies” is not accurate as far as I can tell. I am more than willing to consider redacting parts of the review if I have inadvertently stated something factually incorrect. I don’t want to interfere with your bag by saying any of this I just want people to have the information and decide what to do with it themselves. I am sure there are countless people who have received ferinject at your fine clinic and had wonderful results. Now onto the rest of my experience! It was good, I have not yet had any reaction and they are VERY careful with putting the line in to avoid staining which I greatly appreciated, and why I would recommend going here rather than any old “health clinic”. I think the prices are fair, the consultation fee is put towards the treatment price if you’re eligible and decide to go ahead. The clinic is clean and the staff are friendly. I would certainly look at going to Iron Clinic again if the need arose.

I had my iron infusion with The Iron Clinic during one of their clinic days at Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea and I honestly cannot thank the team enough. From the very start, the consultation process was easy and friendly. All email communication was excellent, any questions I had were answered clearly and they explained exactly what would happen on the day. I was extremely anxious beforehand and unfortunately fainted at the start of the IV due to nerves. The nurses were absolutely incredible, calm, reassuring and so kind. I never felt judged or rushed, just genuinely cared for and supported. Professor Toby Richards stepped in to help when I fainted and continued to check in on me afterwards. He was professional, reassuring and genuinely kind, which made a big difference to how safe I felt. Everything was explained clearly, I was checked on throughout and what could have been a very scary experience felt safe and well handled from start to finish. You can tell this clinic is run by people who truly care about their patients, especially those of us who are nervous or health anxious. I am so grateful for the compassion and excellent care I received. Thank you all so much. Update: Almost one month since my iron infusion and it is the best I have felt in years, I was so hesitant and nervous to have the infusion, but it was the best choice I have ever made, I feel like it has changed my life. Thanks to the iron clinic for all the work you do ❤️
